En conjunto, la extensión del bien propuesto alcanza las 91.086,70 hectáreas, previéndose una zona de amortiguamiento que alcanza las 75.743,00 hectáreas.
La zona principal del bien propuesto configura una extensión de 15.343,70 hectáreas.


- ¿Qué organismos están apoyando el proyecto?
Diputaciones Provinciales de Granada y Almería, la Junta de Andalucía, la Universidad de Granada, el Centro UNESCO de Andalucía, el Parque Natural de Sierra Nevada, la Mancomunidad de municipios de la Alpujarra, la Asociación Desarrollo Rural, y el Patronato de Turismo y la Asociación Abuxara.
Además del Parlamento Andaluz, como el Congreso de los Diputados y el pleno del Senado han dado su apoyo.




- ¿Qué elementos sustentan la candidatura de la Alpujarra?
-Un sistema de captación de agua de las reservas de nieve de las altas cumbres, mediante una técnica tradicional: ''careo''.
-Un sistema de cultivos en terrazas: ''paratas''; estructuradas con muros construidos en piedras: ''balates''.
-Asentamientos humanos en forma de núcleos escalonados, adaptados al relieve del terreno.
-La estructura urbana se organiza alrededor de espacios públicos o semipúblicos de gran originalidad, con una imagen muy específica.


- ¿Qué compromisos tiene que tener o adoptar la zona?
El bien que se propone esté protegido por la legislación cultural nacional, incluyendo la totalidad de las áreas y atributos que definen al bien y la zona de amortiguación.

Pentatonix es un grupo de música a-capella de cinco vocalistas: Kirstie Maldonado, Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Avi Kaplan y Kevin Olusola. Procedente de el Sande, el grupo ganó la tercera temporada de The Sing-Off de la cadena NBC. Pentatonix ganó 200.000 dólares y un contrato de grabación con Sony.
Pentatonix comenzó con tres amigos. Mientras estaban en su escuela secundaria; la Escuela Secundaria Martin de Arlington, Texas, escucharon que se realizaría un casting para la serie televisa Glee, entonces realizaron una versión para trío de "Telephone" y lo enviaron. A pesar de que no resultaron elegidos, ganaron mucha atención en su escuela y ciudad, donde el grupo comenzó a presentarse.
